Roles and Responsibilities
Initiate, develop, execute civil complete designs and high-level take-offs/estimates for
rooftop and ground-mounted PV projects in-house and/or/in combination with specialized consultants while providing subcontracting and construction direct support as required during the post design-phases of the projects
Follow good engineering standards and practices on commercial to utility scale ground
mount and rooftop solar PV projects to ensure that engineering deliverables comply with applicable codes and regulations (mainly Canada and US) and that engineering decisions are made also based on Company best interest and taking into consideration project economics.
Uphold all related health, safety and environmental policies and any other relevant
Company policy.
Perform and maintain civil engineering designs, simulations, calculations, and provide
direction to the design team.
Draft IFR/IFC drawing packages, using CIVIL3D or equivalent CAD platform for every
project assigned.
Request and negotiate pricing, review, and select proposals from qualified consulting
firms.
Develop building, environmental, transportation and other permitting plans with Authorities
Having Jurisdiction for in projects in development phases.
Prepare/update site specific Quality Control programs for use by the construction team
and subcontractors, in compliance with client requirements.
